About Us

Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) was officially established on December 19, 1949. The name ‘Gadjah Mada’ was taken from the spirit and exemplary of Mahapatih Gadjah Mada who succeeded in uniting Nusantara archipelago, which was then translated into the formulation of UGM’s identity such as a national university, a Pancasila university, a people’s university, and a cultural center university.

Initially, UGM only had 6 faculties and now has 18 faculties, 1 Graduate School, and 1 Vocational School with dozens of study programs. UGM is one of the oldest universities in Indonesia, located on the Bulaksumur Campus, Yogyakarta. Most faculties within UGM consist of several departments/divisions and/or study programs. UGM’s activities are outlined in the form of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education which consists of Education and Teaching, Research, and Community Service.

In order to support activities within the Faculty and University, UGM has formed several organizational elements that help the process of implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The Directorate of Human Resources is one of the twelve directorates mandated as part of the implementing elements in administrative and development, which is regulated in the Rector’s Regulation on the Organization and Work Procedures of Universitas Gadjah Mada.

The regulation dictates the Directorate of Human Resources to be in charge of implementing the formulation and policies in the field of human resources.

In carrying out its duties, the Human Resources Directorate carries out the following functions:

  1. forming the human resources strategic plan;
  2. implementation of human resource recruitment affairs;
  3. implementation of human resource performance and remuneration affairs;
  4. management of career affairs and human resources information analysis services; And
  5. implementation of other functions assigned by the Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and Finance.

The organizational structure of the Human Resources Directorate consists of:

  1. Secretariat;
  2. Sub-Directorate of Assessment and Training;
  3. Sub-Directorate of Recruitment and Development;
  4. Sub-Directorate of Performance and Remuneration;
  5. Sub-Directorate of Career and HR Information Analysis Services.

Secretariat

The secretariat is addressed with providing administrative services related to planning, finance, personnel, management, UGM property, correspondence, archives and housekeeping for the Human Resources Directorate.

In carrying out its duties, the Secretariat carries out the following functions:

  1. coordinating the preparation of work plans, program and budget evaluations, and reports;
  2. implementation of financial affairs;
  3. implementation of organizational and business process matters;
  4. management of personnel affairs;
  5. human resources information services;
  6. implementation of administrative, household, equipment and property management affairs of UGM in the Human Resources Directorate.

Sub-Directorate of Assessment and Training

The Assessment and Training Sub-Directorate is given the duty in terms of implementing and providing human resource education and training services.

In carrying out its duties, the Sub-Directorate of Assessment and Training carries out the following functions:

  1. implementation of human resource education and training;
  2. increasing the capacity and non-technical skills of human resources.

Sub-Directorate of Recruitment and Human Resources Development

The Sub-Directorate of Recruitment and Human Resources Development is assigned in managing and carrying out recruitment and human resource development activities.

In carrying out its duties, the Sub-Directorate of Recruitment and Human Resources Development carries out the following functions:

  1. managing human resource strategic plans;
  2. management of recruitment and development of lecturers;
  3. management of recruitment and development of educational staff.

Sub-Directorate of Performance and Remuneration

The Performance and Remuneration Sub-Directorate has the role in managing the performance and remuneration of human resources.

In carrying out its duties, the Sub-Directorate of Performance and Remuneration carries out the following functions:

  1. managing the performance of lecturers and educational staff;
  2. management of remuneration for lecturers and educational staff;
  3. management of rewards and penalties of human resources.

Sub-Directorate of Career and HR Information Analysis Services

The Sub-Directorate of Careers and HR Information Analysis Services is given the task in designing and managing careers, transfers and human resource services.

In carrying out its duties, the Sub-Directorate of Careers, Transfers and HR Information Analysis Services carries out the following functions:

  1. career management and transfers for lecturers and educational staff;
  2. management of business process and analysis of human resource information;
  3. managing reporting services and fulfilling service level agreements.
