Yogyakarta, March 11, 2025 – In an effort to enhance financial literacy among its academic community, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) successfully hosted the Financial Wellness: Key to Peace and Happiness in Life Webinar (Batch 3) on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. The event, organized by the Directorate of Human Resources (DSDM), aimed to equip participants with practical strategies for managing personal finances and achieving financial stability.
The webinar featured dr. C. Dandung Bawono, M.Sc., Sp.A as the keynote speaker, who delivered an engaging session on the fundamentals of financial wellness. Covering topics such as smart budgeting, investment strategies, and debt management, the session was designed to help participants develop a sustainable financial mindset. “Understanding how to manage your finances wisely is crucial, not just for securing your present needs but also for ensuring a stable future,” Dr. Dandung emphasized during his presentation.
The event began with an opening session and a pre-test to gauge participants’ initial financial knowledge. This was followed by an interactive discussion where attendees were encouraged to ask questions and share their financial concerns. The webinar concluded with a post-test and feedback session, allowing organizers to assess the effectiveness of the training.
Live Testimony: A New Perspective on Financial Planning
One of the participants, Rina K., a staff member at UGM’s Faculty of Medicine, shared her experience during the live session. “This webinar truly opened my eyes. I used to think financial planning was complicated, but the speaker broke it down into simple steps. I now feel more confident in managing my expenses and planning for retirement. I hope UGM continues to hold these kinds of training sessions regularly,” she said enthusiastically.
The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Over 85% rated the webinar as excellent, highlighting the relevance of the content and the clarity of the speaker’s delivery. Many also expressed appreciation for the practical tips shared during the session, with some requesting more in-depth training on investment and retirement planning in future webinars.
