In the framework of implementing one of UGM’s missions, namely carrying out education, research, and community service and the preservation and development of knowledge that excels and benefits the community, the role of leadership is considered very important. Leadership development is a strategic need of UGM. The leader is a leverage factor, a driver who organizes all the components under his leadership to drive strategy execution, increase success in navigating change, and ultimately optimize organizational performance. Facilitating and encouraging higher effectiveness is necessary to align leaders’ perceptions, especially the implementing literary elements, as soon as possible. Concrete steps begin with the equalization of perception, the unification of understanding of UGM’s challenges and dynamics in the future, and appropriate organizational and functional responses. With this hope, the Academic Leaders Management Programme is expected to form UGM leaders who are competent, productive, and highly committed to the progress of UGM and become leaders who understand and live UGM values to become role models and inspire others.
