Yogyakarta, 27 February 2025 – In response to the growing need for digital transformation in human resource management, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) successfully conducted the Digitalization in Human Resource Management Training for Supporting Staff 2025. The full-day training took place at the Auditorium Djarum, Pertamina Tower, Faculty of Economics and Business UGM, gathering supporting staff members from various faculties and units to enhance their knowledge and skills in modern HR management practices.

Enhancing HR Digital Competencies

Organized by the Directorate of Human Resources, the training aimed to equip participants with a deeper understanding of strategic HR planning, workforce management, performance evaluation, and career development in a digital era. The event featured four expert-led sessions, each focusing on a crucial aspect of HR digitalization.

The training was officially opened by the Secretary of the Directorate of Human Resources, followed by a pre-test to assess participants’ initial understanding. The morning sessions featured Evi Noor Widiyaningsih, S.IP., MBA., who presented insights on HR strategies, manpower planning, recruitment, and career development. This was followed by Eko Yulianto, S.E., M.Acc., who delved into performance management, discipline, and remuneration systems.

After a lunch break, the afternoon sessions continued with Erna Kartini, S.E., MBA., who discussed competency development and talent management, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and career growth. The final session was led by Poniyem, S.E., M.P.A., who provided comprehensive guidance on KJKP for lecturers and retirement planning, offering valuable insights into long-term career sustainability.

Engaging Discussions and Practical Applications

One of the key highlights of the training was its interactive approach, where participants engaged in discussions, case studies, and Q&A sessions with the speakers. The event also emphasized the practical application of digital tools in HR management, addressing challenges faced by HR professionals in adapting to technological advancements.

“I found the session on performance management and digital HR tools particularly insightful. It provided practical strategies for improving efficiency in workforce management,” shared one of the participants. Another attendee noted, “This training should be held more frequently, as it helps us keep up with evolving HR policies and digital transformation trends.“

A Step Forward in HR Digital Transformation

As part of the evaluation process, a post-test and feedback survey were conducted to gauge participants’ learning progress and overall satisfaction. Early feedback suggested that over 75% of attendees rated the training as highly effective, particularly in content relevance, speaker expertise, and practical implementation.

The results indicate that UGM’s efforts to enhance HR digitalization awareness among its supporting staff have been well received. With the success of this event, the Directorate of Human Resources plans to hold similar training programs in the future, with more focus on hands-on digital tools, case studies, and real-world applications.

The Digitalization in Human Resource Management Training 2025 marks an important step in UGM’s ongoing commitment to empowering its workforce and fostering an innovative, digitally competent HR management system. As the university continues to embrace technological advancements, such initiatives will play a vital role in ensuring UGM remains at the forefront of human resource excellence.
