On September 24-25, 2021, UGM’s Directorate of Human Resources (DSDM) held a Training of Trainer (ToT), Training in Improving Basic Skills of Instructional Techniques (PEKERTI) at Eastparc Hotel, Yogyakarta. PEKERTI ToT was held both online and offline. All the participants, who were unable to join at the Hotel, were able to join via Zoom meeting. The Vice-Rector for Human Resources and Assets (WRSDMA), Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang Agus Kironoto opened the ToT event. In his speech, Bambang Agus Kironoto informed that one of the requirements of the Ministry of Education for lecturer certification is the PEKERTI Training certificate. UGM succeeded in becoming a PEKERTI Organizing College. So that currently, UGM is expected to make the best use of this opportunity to equalize perception and compile material. By doing so, PEKERTI material refers to the national curriculum.
The first speaker at this event was Prof. Dr. Ir. Endang Baliarti, SU. Prof. Endang is the Trustee of UGM’s Lecturer Certification Team (Serdos). Prof. Endang explained PEKERTI Training is one of the prerequisites of lecturers to register Serdos and improve competencies including Professional, Pedagogical, Social, and Personality. The next speaker was Dr. Hatma Suryatmojo, S.Hut., M.Si., who provided direction and mapping of the PEKERTI Curriculum.
The next session was Dr. Sri Suning Kusumawardani, ST, MT. She delivered the Technical Preparation of PEKERTI Modules. The participants were divided into groups based on each participant’s field of science to discuss the materials at the upcoming PEKERTI Training. On September 25, 2021, the Center for Academic Studies Innovation (PIKA) continued with a discussion on workshop materials and creating training materials in the form of power points videos. With this activity, there were some adjustments of perceptions between speakers, and the preparation of quality and complete PEKERTI Training curriculum and materials to support the development of lecturers to obtain lecturer certification.
